A Path Forward After the May 2024 CFA® Level I Exam with Nathan Ronen, CFA

Hello, Nathan Ronen, CFA here with another update for CFA Level I (“Level 1”) candidates who took the CFA exam in May 2024 and just received their results. If you didn't pass, this message is for you.

Understanding the May 2024 CFA Level I Exam Results
The Level 1 results are out, and the pass rate was 46%. While this is a reasonable rate compared to historical averages, it's no consolation if you didn't pass. So, what should you do next? Should you give up or try again? Here's my recommendation.

Reflect and Regroup
Before making any impulsive decisions, take a moment to reflect. You likely put in many hours of CFA curriculum study, and not passing can be disheartening. But this setback shouldn’t stop you from achieving the CFA designation. Consider your options carefully.

Planning Your Next Steps
My recommendation is to retake the Level 1 exam in November 2024. You'll use the same CFA curriculum and learning ecosystem, which means no changes in CFA study materials. This continuity can make a significant difference in your preparation. And the material should still be semi-fresh in your mind. As time passes and memories fade, you will increasingly need to reapproach the CFA testable content from scratch. Why put yourself in this situation?

Joining Chalk & Board for Focused Preparation
Join me at Chalk & Board. I’ll teach you how to pass the Level 1 CFA exam through a structured and holistic approach. Sign up on our website, https://chalkandboard.org, and choose the bundle deal for example, which includes two mock exams. We’ll create a personalized study plan, broken into six phases, to guide your preparation effectively.

The Importance of Integrated Learning
One of the key elements in my teaching is integrating concepts across the CFA curriculum. The May 2024 CFA exam likely showed you that questions are not just direct from the book but require a deeper understanding of integrated topics. This is what I focus on in my lectures and videos.

Deciding on Your Exam Date
While I recommend the November 2024 CFA Level I exam, you also have the option of February 2025. If you choose the latter, be prepared for some changes in the curriculum. However, both options are viable, and I’m here to support you in whichever you choose.

Moving Forward with Confidence
Don’t let this setback discourage you. With the right strategy and support, you can pass the Level 1 CFA exam and move on to Level 2. I’m here to help you through this journey. Reach out with any questions, and let's get started on your path to success.
