As we wrap up 2023, it's crucial to peek ahead at the 2025 changes. I aim to offer a glimpse into the paths that will shape your journey toward the charter.

The CFA Level 3 exam (often referred to simply as “Level 3”) for 2024 will remain relatively unchanged from the previous 2023 year, except for the absence of specific behavioral finance readings. But let's leap forward to 2025, where candidates will choose from three new, distinct paths: Portfolio Management, Private Wealth Management, or Private Markets. Before embarking on your exam journey in February or August 2025, you'll need to designate your selected path.

Should you opt for one path and face a hiccup in the February 2025 exam, don't fret; you can pivot to another path for the August examination. The traditional Portfolio Management path will cover topics akin to the 2023 and 2024 programs, while the Private Wealth Management and Private Markets paths will integrate additional readings specific to those domains.

While we can't speak to the exact readings for these paths yet, I recommend considering pursuing your CFA Charter by August 2024 to bypass these upcoming changes if you’re interested in the current single-path CFA curriculum.
